Commonly known as a 'Baby Nurses' in the United States, Newborn Specialist are not RN's (registered nurses), LPN'S (Licensed Practical Nurse), CNA's (Certified Nursing Assistants) they are however extensively trained by ( RN's or LPN's ) and are an invaluable asset to new parents who provide unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care, prenatal education and support. Whether you need lactation advice, an expert in the care of multiples, or just an extra set of hands.
We are Newborn Specialists whose objective is to love,nurture and promote healthy growth for all babies in my care. We are trained, experienced, C.P.R certified, college educated, discreet individuals who come into your home to help recovering mothers just after childbirth and assist the mother for a few weeks after child(ren) is brought home.
Duties:
- Daily head-to-toe assessments of your baby(ies)
- Breastfeeding support
- Providing newborn care, including feeding (if bottle fed), bathing, circumcision & umbilical cord care
- Initiate a routine for sleeping, feeding, naptimes and playtimes
- Keeping a daily record of baby(ies) activities and responses
- Teaching parents soothing & massage techniques
- Maintain the nursery area including changing bedding, restocking baby's clothing, linens and supplies plus much more, including the training of nannies or any other caregivers.

Vanessa worked for us from the day we came home with our NEWBORN TWIN girls as new parents we were completely unaware of what to expect from Newborns and Parenthood in general. We needed guidance and practical skills and sleep!
Vanessa has a very special way about her, and it shows throughly in all that she does. She took exceptional and consistent care of the babies. She was always pleasant, even if very tired herself, very attentive to the girls and a true professional.
Anyone who has any anxiety about bringing home a new baby (or two!) could use someone like Vanessa at their side to help ease the transition and educate them about things they don't even know they don't know!
As difficult a decision it was to have a stranger in our home handling our children, we couldn't have asked for a better experience than we had with Vanessa. She was our daughter's first caretaker and friend, and we consider her a true friend of ours!

My husband and I would like to enthusiastically recommend Vanessa.
Vanessa immediately stepped into an imperfect situation as I had developed an infection and fever on the day I was due to be released from the hospital. Vanessa went home with my baby while I spent the next 10 days in hospital as the infection and fevers subsided.
Even when I was able to come home I was not able to breastfeed our daughter due to the antibiotics I still needed to finish, Vanessa helped with advice and encouragement for when I could resume feeding,& provided good general advice on a myriad of subjects.
She furthered that by making herself available to answer questions as they come up and to provide progrss updates on our daughter.
Vanessa got my daughter on a routine as soon as she discovered her patterns & helped adapt and fine tune it with a gentle, loving hand. She assisted us by explaining what she was doing as she was doing it so we could understand what we were doing as we did it.
Vanessa came highly recommended and we wish to the same, she did not let us down and made us truly appreciate and respect her skill and loving care. All of us are better for it.

What we most enjoyed about V is her positive energy and bright personality, she is always laughing and is a very upbeat person.
We were most impressed with V's knowledge of newborns and the skills and 'tricks' she knows to get them comfortable.

Vanessa did not just care for our child, she taught us how to understand our child's needs and meet them. She also taught us how to prepare a bottle, change diapers, give baths,caring for the umbilical cord and circumcision and how to be able to identify and respond to dangerous situations.
Vanessa's round the clock assistance enabled my wife and I to get the rest we desperately needed. We were able to visit with friends and family, get out of the house and most importantly, spend time with our son in a low stress environment.
Vanessa delivered time and time again. She is honest, kind, caring, principled and patient. We have appreciated her professionalism and come to value her friendship.

Vanessa took wonderful care of our baby in every regard. She designed a great schedule for Talia's feeding and sleeping, and kept her impeccably clean, groomed, exercised, stimulated and happy.
I am breastfeeding our baby, and Vanessa offered very helpful tips and strategies. Talia, slept 4-5 hours per night under Vanessa's expert supervision.
Vanessa also expertly advised me on products, equipment and services that would be useful and suitable for Talia. Vanessa kept our home running smoothly during a time that might otherwise be incredibly overwhelming and stressful.

Vanessa arrived at our home and immediately integrated herself into the routine of our family's life. She was always available for any help I needed with the baby.
Vanessa's knowledge of newborns and their behaviours is extensive. Although after two children I felt fairly equipped to handle a third baby, Vanessa has nevertheless taught me many "tricks of the trade", especially relating to getting a baby to sleep through the night.
Thanks to these techniques, our 3 week old now sleeps for 6-7 hour stretches during the night!
What makes the time Vanessa has spent with us even more invaluable is the love and attention she has showered on our baby. She has an uncanny knack for reading his moods and interpreting his cries and I have never had a moment's worry when the baby is in her arms.
